The Gratitude Jar

“Cherish this day with deep gratitude.” I thought about this statement made by Dr. Andrew Bonnicic at zendoctor.com.

Take refuge and deeply appreciate each passing breath and cherish the silence of the morning. Embrace the only moment you have which is this moment.

Meet every day as it arises and cherish it as if it were your last.

Treasure the simplicity of the moment, of your breath. Reach out to others and offer them the value of simply being loved, without conditions, in this present moment.

Offer all sentient beings your presence by demonstrating generosity by deeply listening and caring.

I encourage you to secure a good-sized jar and a good number business card sized pieces of paper. Place the jar in a location of your home where you will see it many times during the day. At least one time everyday write at least one thing for which you are grateful. When life throws you curves and you find yourself struggling to maintain a healthy balance in your life, grab the jar, open it and dump out your gratitude. Take the time to read through your accomplishments. Smile and relive the things for which you are thankful.

Starting in January I am going to post one thing every day for which I am grateful. I challenge you to do the same. Drop me a note and let me know how you’re doing. I guarantee it’ll put a smile on your face.
Namaste.
